HISTORY
The seeds of Sprig of Acacia were sown and nurtured in Moraira. The first founder members meeting taking place at the home of the late Dick Read, on the 27th April 1989, where it was agreed to seek permission from 'Gran Logia de España' and 'Gran Logia Provincial de Levante' to form an English speaking Lodge under the Spanish Constitution, based in Moraira, working Emulation Ritual, with the original name of The Acacia Lodge.

At the second Founder Members meeting held on the 21st August 1989, confirmation was received that permission had been granted to form the Lodge with the name of Sprig of Acacia Lodge No. 43. The early L of Is being held at the 'Micheta Carvery', Moraira.

The new Sprig of Acacia No. 43 was Consecrated on Saturday 7th October 1989. at the Swiss hotel, Moraira, W. Bro. Richard Lionel Read being Installed in the Chair of King Solomon as its first W.M., the Consecration Ceremony was attended by over 60 Brethren and guests, the Charity Column on that evening raised 13,695 pts.

The first regular meeting was held on Wednesday 1st November 1989, at which, the first proposed Initiate, Mr. Francis Richard Meehan was balloted for, and Initiated. The Swiss Hotel was then regularly used until the February of 1993, when 'EL Corregidor Restaurant' was the venue for 3 meetings, the last being April 1993.

Sprig of Acacia moved to its present home at the Masonic Temple in Jávea on Wednesday 6th October 1993, with Bro. F. Pursglove being Installed in the Chair of King Solomon, at that meeting Mr. Donald Eric Henké was balloted for and at the next regular meeting on 3rd November, became Sprig of Acacia’s first Initiate at its new home.
